What image formats are supported?
JPG and PNG images up to 40 MB. Images larger than 8192px in either dimension will be automatically scaled down.
What paper sizes can I use?
A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, US Letter, US Legal, Tabloid, or custom dimensions. Both portrait and landscape orientations are supported.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All image processing happens entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
How do I assemble the printed pages?
Print all pages, then arrange them using the page position labels (A1, A2, B1, B2...). Use the crop marks to trim margins, then tape or glue the pages together.
What printer do I need?
Any standard home or office printer works. For best results, use a laser printer with standard copy paper.
What grid size should I use?
10mm is a good default for large posters viewed from a distance. Use 5-7mm for finer detail or smaller posters. The real-time preview lets you experiment before generating.
Can I use Rasterbator on my phone?
Yes, Rasterbator works on any modern browser including mobile. For best performance with large images, a desktop or laptop is recommended.
What halftone effects are available?
11 effects: classic halftone, color halftone, black & white, high contrast, horizontal lines, vertical lines, cross halftone, heart, triangle, ASCII art, and plain tile.
How large can my poster be?
Virtually unlimited. Configure up to 20+ pages wide and tall. A 6x8 grid on A4 paper creates a poster roughly 1.2m x 2.4m (4ft x 8ft).
What is the difference between PDF and ZIP download?
PDF contains all pages in one printable document. ZIP provides individual JPG tiles so you can print specific pages or use them in other applications.
